And in any case, I don't see it as Judy Blume's mistake, since it's in the words of a character, and it's unrealistic for an author to create characters who use language perfectly. I've noticed the Asclepius/Caduceus serpent rod things (Which I seem to pronounce differently each time I say :P ) get mixed up a lot too, which is kind of irritating, but you can't blame anyone for it.
